International Mother Language Day
International Mother Language Day recognises that languages and multilingualism can advance inclusion and the sustainable development goals focus on ‘no one gets left behind. UN believes education, based on the first language, or mother tongue, must begin from the early years, as early childhood care and education is the foundation of learning.
This years observance is a call on policy makers, educators, parents and families to scale up their commitment to multilingual education and inclusion in education.
In addition to our recognition of this event in our Curriculum, we will also be joining the 2021 International Mother Language Day “Fostering multilingualism for inclusion in education and society” virtual event to further develop our knowledge understanding and skills in this area.
