Welcome to The Rainbow Family Centres for Children, a cherished family-owned and operated establishment that has been a proud part of the Macarthur region for an incredible 25 years. Meet the heart of our Rainbow family: Mum (Diane), Dad (Ron), and their accomplished daughters, Justine and Rachel. Both Justine and Rachel bring a wealth of experience to the table, with 54 years combined in the Education field. Justine’s Primary training and Rachel’s Early Childhood expertise provide us with a unique understanding of children’s growth, development, and needs from birth to the age of 12.
Just like your family, we navigate the delicate balance of careers, children, parenthood, relationships, and domestic responsibilities. Empathy, flexibility, understanding, personalised care, and quality education are not just expectations for your family but guiding principles for ours, especially when it comes to our own children.
We understand the importance of creating a community of care and education that goes beyond the ordinary. Our goal is to offer you and your child an experience that is invaluable—a fabric of mutual support that sets us apart from many other centres.
Our proudest achievement over the years is crafting a service that feels like home. We aim to replicate the warmth of visiting Nan and Pop or Aunty and Uncle, providing an environment where your precious little ones can truly flourish.
The relationships we’ve built with our families and children have been immensely rewarding, serving as the driving force behind our 23 years in operation. We are motivated not only by our past achievements but also by the desire to continue the Rainbow Family story long into the future.
With much love, joy, and rainbows,
xDiane, Ron, Justine, and Rachel
Did you know The Rainbow Family is steeped in history and tradition?….
It is this history and tradition that is the heart and soul of Rainbow and makes us who we are today.
Explore the rich history and tradition of The Rainbow Family, an integral part of our identity and essence.
Our Name:
Back in 2001, the inaugural addition to our family was the spirited ‘Rainbow Long Day Care Centre.’ Embracing the cheerfulness, we retained the name and flourished as ‘Rainbow’ in the following years.
As our family expanded, and more Rainbow centres joined our community, a slight adjustment was made to accommodate our growing family. Thus, “The Rainbow Family Centres For Children” emerged as our new name, a title that has endured and defined us ever since.
While all our centres proudly operate under The Rainbow Family Centres banner, each possesses its distinctive features that set it apart:
- The Rainbow Family Centres – ‘Joste-Lin’ An homage to its original heritage, this centre, known as Joste-Lin Farm upon joining our family, retained its historical name. Thus, The Rainbow Family Joste-Lin was born.
- The Rainbow Family – ‘OSHC’ Reflecting the significance of the service it provides, this centre is aptly named ‘Outside School Hours Care.’
At The Rainbow Family, our name reflects not only our history but also the individuality of each centre within our diverse family
Our Logo:

Updated logo created by Miss B 2019
Every element at Rainbow holds a unique story, a small fragment of heart and soul. Our original logo is no exception. in 2001, our first logo was a heartfelt creation by a talented artist from our inaugural class. This emblem held such sentimental value that it graced our materials—letterheads, pamphlets, uniforms, hats, t-shirts, and signs—unchanged for a remarkable 18 years.
In celebration of our 18th anniversary in 2019, we decided it was time for a 21st-century makeover. Once again, a skilled Rainbow artist, leveraging modern technology, hand drew our new logo. The goal was to preserve the authenticity of the original while infusing it with a contemporary twist.
The updated design now features four children under the Rainbow, symbolising each grandchild welcomed into our family over the years. This not only honours our legacy but also aligns with our inclusive values and beliefs. We eagerly anticipate operating under this beautiful logo for the next 25 years, as it continues to narrate the evolving story of Rainbow.
Our Colours:

Our Colours.
In the early days of our operation, we recognised the importance of a unified team appearance. Back then, staff uniforms in our field were a rarity, and finding the right fit proved to be a challenge. We experimented with various options—polo shirts, outfits from local stores, even airbrushed jackets—but none captured our professionalism and team cohesion.
Our breakthrough came when we discovered a uniform supplier in Port Macquarie. Following an enjoyable staff meeting, exploring samples and sharing ideas, we settled on a sleek combination: black and lime green polo shirts, matching jackets, and hats. This marked the inception of our distinctive ‘centre colours.’ Interestingly, we continue to collaborate with the same uniform supplier to this day.
From that defining moment, ‘Black and Lime Green’ became more than just colours; they became synonymous with our uniform, signage, and branding, reflecting the unity and identity of our dedicated team.
Annual Graduation:
Year after year, from the moment we welcomed our first families, we have eagerly anticipated our annual Preschool Graduation celebrations.
This cherished time has evolved into one of the highlights of our calendar. It serves as a special occasion for us to gather in unity, celebrating the achievements of the graduating preschoolers.
In recent years, our Graduations have transformed into spectacular themed events, meticulously planned from start to finish with the enthusiastic involvement of the children.
These Graduations have become a tradition at Rainbow, representing a rite of passage for our little ones as they prepare to embark on their journey to big school. It’s a heartwarming and fitting send-off, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another in the colourful story of Rainbow.
