The Rainbow Family Centres For Children are proudly family owned and operated. Together, we have been operating our Rainbow Centres in the Macarthur region for 21 wonderful years.
There’s Mum (Diane), Dad (Ron) and their grown up daughters (Justine and Rachel). Justine and Rachel are both University Trained Teachers with a combined total of 49 years experience in the Education field.
Justine is Primary trained and Rachel is Early Childhood trained, giving us a unique insight into the growth, development and needs of children from birth right through to 12years of age.
Like you and your family, we also juggle careers, children, parenthood, relationships, family life and domestic responsibilities.
Also like you, (especially when it comes to our own children), we look for empathy, flexibility, understanding, personalised care and quality education. That’s why it’s so important to us, that we provide these qualities for your family.
We believe that the community of care and education we provide, will become invaluable to you, to your child and indeed to your whole family. The fabric of mutual support we offer, is a unique experience that you will not find in many other centres.
Of all our achievements over the years, we are most proud of the fact, that we have created a service that feels like home. Just like visiting Nan and Pop or Aunty and Uncle. We believe this is exactly what many families want for their precious little ones and exactly what children need to flourish.
The relationships we have built with all our families and children over the years, are hugely rewarding and have provided us with the motivation to stay in operation for 21 years and also to continue the Rainbow Family story long into the future.
Much Love, Joy and Rainbows

Did you know The Rainbow Family is steeped in history and tradition?….
It is this history and tradition that is the heart and soul of Rainbow and makes us who we are today.
Our Name:
When our first centre joined the family in 2001, it was already cheerfully named ‘Rainbow Long Day Care Centre’. We kept the name and operated successfully as ‘Rainbow’ for the next few years.
As we grew, and as more Rainbow centres joined our family, we slightly adapted our name to suit our now bigger family, Our new name “The Rainbow Family Centres For Children” was born and has remained with us ever since.
Each of our centres continue to operate under The Rainbow Family Centres name, but with their own little defining features that set them apart from each other.
*The Rainbow Family Centres- ‘Minto ‘
Named proudly in recognition of its suburb location
*The Rainbow Family Centres- ‘Joste-Lin‘
Named to reflect its original heritage. When this centre joined the family, it was already named Joste-Lin Farm. As a nod to its history, we retained the name and The Rainbow Family Joste-Lin was born.
*The Rainbow Family- ‘OSHC‘
Named to reflect the valuable service we provide here, Outside School Hours Care.
Our Logo:
2001 Logo created by Miss T
Almost everything at Rainbow has a story behind it, a little piece of heart and soul. Our original logo is no different.
Our 2001 logo was hand drawn by a wonderful little artist, who happened to be in our very first class. That logo was so special to us, that it remained unchanged for 18 years and adorned countless letterheads, pamphlets, uniforms, hats, t shirts and signs.
In honour of our 18th anniversary in 2019, we decided It was time to bring our logo into the 21st Century. Our new logo was once again hand drawn, (using technology now available) by another talented little Rainbow artist. The aim was to maintain authenticity and reflect our original logo, while giving it a modern revamp.
Instead of the original two, we now have four kids under the Rainbow. This represents each of the Grandkids who have joined our family over the years. It also better reflects our inclusive values and beliefs. We are looking forward to operating under this beautiful logo for the next 21 years.
Our Family Crest:
We are extremely proud of our Centres “Family Crest” Our Crest was designed by one of our longest standing Educators. Our Crest signifies all of the important things that Rainbow stands for and symbolises the unity and respect that we share as a service.
Our Colours:
When we first began operating, all those years ago, we knew we wanted a team uniform.
At that time, staff uniforms in our field were not common and were difficult to come by. We experimented with a variety of available options, such as polo shirts, matching outfits from local clothing stores and even airbrushed jackets. None represented our professionalism or our cohesiveness as a team.
Finally, we came upon a uniform supplier, all the way in Port Macquarie, who could provide what we were looking for. After a fun staff meeting, exploring the samples, we chose a black and lime green polo shirt, matching jacket and hat. We had finally found our uniform. (Fun Fact we still use the same uniform supplier all these years later)
From that moment, our ‘centre colours’ were born. ‘Black and Lime Green’ became synonymous with our uniform, signage and branding.
Annual Graduation:
Every year, since we first opened our doors, we have held our annual Preschool Graduation.
This wonderful community event, has become one of our favourite times of the year. It gives us the opportunity to come together in unity and celebrate as a family. Over the last few years, our Graduations have become spectacular themed events, which the children have helped plan from start to finish. They have become a rite of passage at Rainbow and are truely a fitting send off to big school.
